For 2 weeks in August the Lyceum No. 176 in Novosibirsk, Russia, hosted an open summer school for programming and engineering technologies “Campus of Youth Innovations: Constructor of Worlds”.
Data Science Specialist at Novel Software Systems Timur Fatykhov was in the charge of the Big Data and Machine Learning course. Students learned the mathematical models used in the data analysis and Python programming language, and also applied the gained knowledge in their first Machine Learning project.
Schoolchildren developed models for classifying images: the first group was engaged in the recognition of handwritten numbers using a fully connected architecture, and the second group implemented the recognition of various items of clothing via a full-convolutional neural network.
